Tape Mani - Orly Mysterious Curse

Hi everyone!

Just a quick post to show you the tape Mani I did the other day.
This is using Orly Mysterious Curse and a Spoiled glitter polish that I don't know the name of.

Both of these lovely polishes I got in a grab bag. From a lovely lady in the US.

Quick note: I did this is a bit of a hurry last weekend, after I finished work an before I went to the Hanson concert (I know, I'm up with all the cool kids music). So, the clean up job is not the best.
Also, be warned, my cuticles look horrendous.

Thanks for stopping by. xx

"This is Halloween" Nail Art Challenge Announcement!

Hi everyone.

Just a quick update to let you know that I will be doing an October 'Halloween' challenge.

Bec from Lacquer Dreams came up with a month long Halloween challenge, consisting of a couple of challenges a week.

I am really excited about this challenge.
As i live in Australia, we do not really celebrate Halloween much but it seems like such a fun holiday that we are missing out on.

This is my first ever nail challenge. I also haven't tried watermarbling yet and haven't done much nail art, so this could be interesting.

Big thanks to Bec for organising this challenge.

Be sure to check out her blog Lacquer Dreams.
There are also quite a few oither Aussie bloggers doing this challenge and I will link to them at some point too.

Thanks for stopping by.
Wish me luck with this challenge...I will need it.

Layla Holo - What Did I Do Wrong?!

Hi everyone.

I recently picked up a couple of Layla Holos, after a lovely girl on Facebook told me where I could find them in Perth...Yay!

The first one I tried was Ultra Violet and it is GORGEOUS!!

But one problem I found with it is that after 1 days wear my thumb polish came off in one full piece.
I hadn't been doing dishes or had my hands in warm water (except to wash them) at all that day and I had prepped the mail using the Layla file/buffer.
I'm not sure what caused this...are my nails just rejecting the polish (that better not be the case because it's so pretty an they would be very naughty nails if they did).

I used Poshe as my topcoat...was that the cause of this drama?i don't know the answers and all I have is more question.

I will try again and overcome this hurdle because it is just so pretty.

Bye for now.

Btw, please excuse my horrible cuticles in the pic.

Gloss n Sparkle SALE

Hi everyone.

Just a quick post.
I promise I will actually update with a proper post soon but I have been ridiculously busy lately.

Gloss n Sparkle (my current favourite indie brand) is having a sale on Etsy at the moment to make way for the new style of bottles they will be introducing soon.
The polishes are $8 each (usually $10) and Angela has added a couple of limited edition polishes ($8.50 each), a gorgeous Halloween polish and a cute glitter bomb.

I love all of Angela's polished and have bought most of them...I have banned myself from buying any more at the moment because I have spent too much money on them recently.

I highly recommend Unicorn Droppings!!

Go an check out her sale at www.glossnsparkle.etsy.com

Ulta 3's were $2 and Nicole by OPI was $5 from Guradian Pharmacy

So excited by all the cheap polishes.
Coming up tomorrow are all of the swatches from my haul plus my latest haul and probably some extras I plan on buying tomorrow.

Face of Australia - Sheer Gloss Lip Crayons

Hi Everyone,

I know these have been out for a little while and most of you have probably snapped them up already but here is my two cents on the Face of Australia Sheer Gloss Lip Crayons.

Source: Face of Australia website
These lip gloss crayons are limited edition, come in a pack of 3 and retail for $14.95 (for the 3).

They apply really smoothly, give a nice wash of colour and a lovely moisturised feel.
Lips do not feel sticky (like some glosses) and have a nice subtle colour, which can be built up.

Similar to the Clinique Chubby Sticks and the Lipstick Queen Crayons, they are almost a cross between lipstick, lip balm and lip gloss.

Here are my pics of the lip crayons...

L to R: Cupcake, Sundae, Macaron

The colours are all really nice and I am actually a fan of all 3 of them (which is very rare) because I think the sheer buildable nature of the crayon makes them suitable for most skin colours.

Overall, these are really nice and great value for money. I picked mine up on special for about $11 at Big W...BARGAIN!
They are a limited edition item, so I am not sure how long they will be around for, so get them now!

Thanks for stopping by. x

NOTD - catch up for the week

I was planning on trying to post everyday with the nailmpolish I was currently wearing but unfortunately due to work and DVD box sets, that hasn't happened.
So, today's post is my attempt to catch up and show you the polishes I have been wearing lately.
1st up is today's polish.
This is OPI Flower-To-Flower from the 'Nice Stems' collection.
It is a lovely pink polish with a subtle pink shimmer. Bright enough without being neon.
I have also done an accent nail with Deborah Lippman Birthday Party over the Flower-to-Flower.
 Pen on my hand...like always.

I really liked this polish combo. It was fun and easy.
Next up is Kleancolor Chunky Bluebell Holo over Revlon Royal.
I really like the change in colour you can see in the glitter. There is a definite shift from orange to green, then you also see some red and yellow at times.
This was a fun polish. However, I found that the Kleancolour glitter takes FOREVER to dry and when I added Seche Vite, I had some major shrinkage.

So, I like the look of it but the application was a little annoying.

Now we have Green with Envy from Glimmer by Erica, over Ulta3 Black Satin

This is a really cool glitter top coat. I got so many comments about this polish.
I really wasn't expecting the attention I got from it because, although I like it, it definitely is not my favourite polish nor does it stand out as much as some of my polishes.
But the overwhelming opinion of the people was that this is an awesome polish.
The application was easy and dry time was good.

Next is Treasure Chest from Glimmer by Erica over Ulta3 Orchid.

This is after about 1 1/2 days of wear.

Thanks for stopping by.
